ENVIRONMENTAL SERIES
In 2015, Gary and Laura Dumm, decided to tackle the environment and do a series of large paintings (most 36" x 36" acrylic on canvas).
They used iconic movie monsters, who were often the by-product of corporate greed and human egotism manipulating nature to spawn our own annihilation to present the consequences of climate change, genetic engineering, pesticides, loss of pollinators, air/water pollution, global warming, deforestation, fossil fuels, nuclear energy, animal extinction, genetic engineering for profit, destruction of animal habitats, and extinctions.
The two of them would discuss the subject and Gary would sketch their idea, more discussion then Gary would draw the final drawing and copy it onto the canvas and Laura would paint it.
Their goal is to make these paintings educational tools. If anyone is interested in showing them please contact them at [email protected]
