"Our Love Letter To Cleveland" Murals are on the Building!!!

September 10, 2013 - The murals are finally up on Orange Blossom Press and the unveiling was a big success! Here is a recap of our wild roller coaster ride!

Back in October 2012 Gary was awarded a Creative Workforce Fellowship by CPAC,( Community Partnership for Arts and Culture). Which made our dream of installing our mural a reality. We are so excited about this project's completiion, now that they are actually up on Orange Blossom Press, 1935 West 25th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113, near the famous West Side Market for all to see and enjoy.

The "Introduction of the Murals to the City of Cleveland" was held Sept 10, 2013 on a record high heat day of 93 degrees. Mayor Frank Jackson and Councilman Joe Cimperman led the festivities with heartfelt speeches of how important art is to communities and particularly children living in those communities. They are two more reasons to love this city. See all the talks, including Gary's in the video below.

We called these 3 murals "Our Love Letter to Cleveland" and hope they spark conversation and bring joy and pride to the people viewing them. The blue ribbon running through the murals represents the Cuyahoga river, this is where we put the names of all the people places and things that are pictured in the murals but in no particular order. Making them an intereactive kind of puzzle.

We also got a 30 second spot on the tv show "The List" check out the video below.

Here are two articles written by Hollie Gibbs, our favorite writer. The first one was Cool Cleveland's article that she wrote at the beginning of our journey, and then the one that she wrote right before the unveiling.

We have a pdf version of the booklet that gives more information about the people, places and things on the mural. If you would like one send your email address to info@DummArt.com and put Mural Booklet in the subject area.
